Glenwood Springs 2011
We just got back from a fun 3-day weekend adventure to Glenwood Springs with Mom & Dad E. We packed in plenty of fun activities, beautiful mountain views and enjoyed each other’s company. LP and Shep did a good job of being troopers during our swimming, hiking and caving while having no naps and Nana & Papa were great extra hands! And Shep even rolled over, front to back, for the first time…now little man has done both…what a big boy already.
The most ambitious thing we did was hike/climb Hanging Lake. Accending around 1,000 ft. in 1.2 miles makes for a challenging hike, especially while having a kiddo strapped to you! Ryan was the real hero, though, hiking with 30 lb. LP on his back, and I had Shep, who I’m guessing is around 16-17 lbs. Towards the end of the accent up, RC needed some relief so with Nana’s help, LP was able to climb the end of the hike herself. Honestly, we would not have been able to take the kids on the hike with us on our own. Poor Shep was STARVING at the end of the hike, as he woak up on our decent…bless his heart, going 4 hours without eating and a blowout diaper that he was sitting in, did not make him a happy camper at the end. I was just glad that he found his thumb at times to help pass the 45 min. trip down. The lake at the top is beautiful and the sights we saw along the way were amazing! All worth the experience of sore shoulders and muscles
The Glenwood Hot Springs were so enjoyable and were certinaly LP’s highlight of the trip once again. We swam for around 3 hours and I think Dad E. said it was the most time he had spent at a pool in a long time. The weather was beautifully in the mid-70s and the water felt great.
On our last day we took the gondola up to the Glenwood Caverns and toured the caves. The caves were really impressive and along the way we exited the cave for a beautiful view of the Glenwood Valley.
Here are some pics of our weekend adventures……

We had alot of fun…my calves and hamstrings kind of sore yesterday…probably carrying that girl up the 137 stairs in the cavern?!
